Night shifts in Animal Hospital (Anomaly) punish weak loadouts. Sanity drains from anomalies, emergencies, and mistakes at the desk; Cash and Animal Coins are finite between runs. This hub collects our meta tier lists so you invest in roles and tools that actually stabilize co-op teams — not vanity purchases that look useful in the lobby but fail on Shift 6+.

We split rankings into two deep dives:

• Class Tier List — all eleven playable roles (Intern through Firefighter and Secret Agent) ranked by sanity sustain, utility, combat, hazard response, and Animal Coin / Robux cost
• Items Tier List — Supplies Shop gear: coffee, taser, gun, fire extinguisher, mint tea, scanner, deployable camera, bandages, and upgrade timing

Both lists assume online co-op on released Roblox servers, consistent with our facts baseline: admit real patients, reject anomalies, manage sanity until the night ends.

How we rank

Tier placement weighs what kills runs most often:

1. Sanity sustain — can this pick recover from CCTV zooms, cursed photos, and Shapeshifter fights?
2. Desk utility — does it help reception checks (shutter, photo, paperwork) or only treatment rooms?
3. Anomaly defense — starter weapons, scanners, or speed to reach emergencies
4. Co-op value — does one player running this role make four-person shifts smoother?
5. Cost efficiency — Animal Coins and Robux versus power spike at level 1, not only max level

S-tier picks solve multiple problems. C-tier picks are fine for learning but get outscaled when photo mismatches and fire events stack.

Firefighter (~1,100 Animal Coins, Hazmat update) owns auto-recharging extinguisher duty on slime and fire metas. Secret Agent (Robux) starts with gun + scanner for anomaly-heavy nights. Intern remains the default first shift role.

Team building in co-op

Balanced four-player lineups mix desk, heal, and defense:

• Reception anchor — Secretary or Psychologist for sanity at the window; pair with controls mastery
• Treatment carry — Surgeon or Doctor for patient heals that refund sanity
• Hunter — Security, Secret Agent, or Firefighter when slime/fire hazards stack
• Runner — Paramedic or Head Nurse for inventory and critical escorts

Avoid four identical DPS classes — someone must still stamp forms and run CCTV checks.

When to revisit tiers

Animal Anomaly ships balance patches and new Supplies Shop stock (mint tea, scanner, deployable camera, Firefighter class from Hazmat). Re-check both sub-pages after:

• Class perk changes or new Animal Coin prices
• Shift difficulty tuning past Night 10
• New consumables in Dr. Harlow’s shop rotation
